The FIFA World Cup kicked off in Brazil on 12th July. Keep up with all the news and action using your Google Apps Calendar and new Google Now Cards.


The website has created public calendars you can add to your Google Calendar.

You can select all of the matches or use the drop-down All countries / matches to add a specific county only. Once added, matches are shown as events with Kick-Off times adjusted for your own time-zone.

To add the World Cup Fixtues to your calendar you can simply click their Subscribe in Google Calendar button or alternatively add the calendar link via the Add a Calendar box in Other Calendars.

Google Now (Android)

Google recently added the World Cup to Google Now meaning it will surface World Cup related information as cards.

You can also add international football teams via the settings on a mobile device:

  • Touch the Wand Customize icon on the main Google Now screen
  • Select Sports
  • Select Add a Team
  • Enter the name of the team you wish to follow
