Instead of having to download your file as a PDF version before you send it to someone, save time and send it as a PDF via a link

If you often need to send your G Suite files in a PDF format you’ll know the process of having to download the file as a PDF, go to your downloads and send it via email, upload it or vice versa. This tip allows you to work on your G Suite files and send your file as a PDF via a link.

This is a time saver as you can continue to work on your file and update it without having to download the PDF version each time you make a change. The PDF link will remain the same so continue to work on your G Suite files and send the link when you’re finished and it will download as a PDF.

Follow these steps

Within your chosen file:

  • Click Share
  • Choose Copy Link
  • Before you paste the link and forward, change the end of the URL before sending your updated link.
  • After the forward slash, add the formula export?format=pdf
  • For example:
  • Before: http://docs.google.com/document/d/1a2b3c4d/edit?usp=sharing
  • After: http://docs.google.com/document/d/1a2b3c4d/export?format=pdf
