The List View option provides a minimalistic view of your spreadsheet data. It's particularly useful for those that have viewing rights only, but have a great amount of data to manage. If you're trying to access a spreadsheet with more than 50 users currently viewing it, you'll be automatically redirected to list view.

List View allows you to:

  • View spreadsheets on a slow Internet connection.
  • View spreadsheets from mobile phones with webkit-based browsers (iPhone, Android, Nokia S60, Palm Pre), Opera Mobile, or Opera Mini.
  • Get a simple view of your data with or without formatting.
  • Sort and filter data without modifying it.
  • Enter data in a simple way.
  • Share a read-only spreadsheet, but allow sorting and filtering.

Things you can’t do in List View are:

  • Select cells
  • Rename sheets
  • Format data
  • Use auto-fill
  • Edit formulas
  • Add comments
  • Add new collaborators and viewers
  • Insert images, charts and gadgets

To access List View go to the View menu in your spreadsheet and select List.
